BODY TO BODY MEDICINE WORKSHOP

Join Jamie Lee Finch and Joan Chan, MD for an educational and transformational new workshop for any and all humans working in healthcare.

Whether you’re a physician, psychologist, therapist, bodyworker… you’re never alone in a room with your patient. Your body is always there with you, ready and willing to partner with you in your facilitation. The same is true for your client, too — no case is a complete mystery. Because their body already knows exactly what’s going on.

What if learning to understand and communicate with your own body better is the pathway to understanding and communicating with your patients’ bodies as well?

In this workshop, we want to teach you and show you how being in an intentional, loving, curious relationship with your body allows you to do all of the things that sometimes feel overwhelming or impossible to do in healthcare: set compassionate boundaries, handle necessary conflict, make confident decisions, remain fully present, and take really good care of yourself and your clients at the same time.

Meet Your Hosts

Jamie Lee Finch is an embodiment coach, writer, facilitator, and massage therapist in training. She has a passion for introducing other humans working in healthcare to the reality of the personhood of the body, and what’s possible when we remember the aliveness and agency of our physicality. She has worked with hundreds of people over the past seven years in one-on-one and group facilitation, and has an online course about her methodology of Personified Embodiment. She believes that our bodies are our best teachers and our guides into waking up to what “wellness” can truly mean.

Joan Chan is a mother of two sons, wife of one husband, superfan of Ru-Paul's Drag Race, and a family physician of a thousand patients in Guelph, ON.  She also serves her medical community as a restorative medical educator, using courses, workshops and coaching to facilitate the reconnection of medical practitioners with their humanity. She loves working with burnt out clinicians to build sustainable and even enjoyable experiences of medical practice - and believes this is the key to saving our healthcare system as a whole.
